Veggie and fruit juice is delicious, good for you and counts towards one of your five a day, so if you are looking for an extra boost, drinking healthily can really help in this regard.

We’re now heading into summer, so what better time than the present to start thinking about what refreshing drinks you can enjoy over the next few months that will do you an awful lot of good?

Orange juice is a brilliant choice for first thing in the morning, as the vitamin C hit is a great wakeup call and it’s full of antioxidants, so you’re helping your immune system out at the same time. If you want to get even more vitamins, blend up a cup of strawberries and add them to your juice.

Green juices will always be one of the best ways to get some nutrients into your system and there are all sorts of varieties out there for you to try. Look out for juices that have celery in them, as celery juice has all sorts of wonderfully healthy nutrients and vitamins in it to help keep you in tiptop condition.

Other common ingredients in green juice include lemon, ginger, apples, kale and spinach, so you’re really upping your veg content if you go for this kind of juice.

Drink By The Season:

Thinking seasonally with your juice drinks is a nice way of making sure you’re eating lots of fresh fruit and veg but also keeping it varied every few months - so you’re getting a wide range of different antioxidants and vitamins throughout the year.

During summer, strawberries and blueberries will always be good ingredients to look out for as you know they’ll be at their freshest right now. And British strawberries are certainly the best to be found anywhere!

Other in-season fruits at this time of year include peaches, raspberries, rhubarb and cherries, so you could have a great time trying out different juices over the summer months.
